λ A PAIR OF SILVER GILT AND ENAMEL GOBLETSGERALD BENNEY, MASTER ENAMELLER'S MARK FOR ROBERT VIDAL WINTER, LONDON 1971 With green and red translucent enamel over a bark effect textured ground, ivory coloured stems and on circular feet13.5cm (5 1/4in) high769g (24.7 oz) grossLiterature: Andrew J. and Styles D. 'Designer British Silver from Studios Established 1930 -1985', Antique Collector's Club 2015, p 104 for an identical green and ivory enamelled goblet dated 1970. The authors note that this 1979 goblet was an early example of Benney's enamel work, and would have been extremely difficult to execute as the surface is both large and curved. Gerald Benney commented himself during their early enamel experiments that 'For two years great crates full of rubbish. The least speck of dust, or a tiny air bubble, can ruin enamel'.品相报告: Marks are well struckStand wellEnamel goodLight scratches and wear commensurate with age and use
