A FAMILLE ROSE PALETTE ‘LADIES PLAYING WEIQI’ PORCELAIN VASE OF PHOENIX-TAIL SHAPE, FENGWEIZUN APOCRYPHAL MARK OF EMPEROR QIANLONG CHINA, POSSIBLY REPUBLIC / MINGUO PERIOD It is finely painted with light blue enamels to depict ornaments such as lozenges, keyfrests and hanging garlands. It is also painted in famille rose enamels with four ladies in a garden, two of them seated on garden stools and playing weiqi (Chinese chess also known as Go in Japan). There is a ruyi-shaped seal on one side. There also is an apocryphal seal of Emperor Qianlong on the body. The base is inscribed in blue enamel with an apocryphal four-character Qianlong mark within a double square.
