A STONE-EMBELLISHED BRONZE HEAD OF A BODHISATTVA POSSIBLY NEPAL Likely a fragment of a complete sculpture. It has a round face, a thin nose as well as half-closed eyes of almond shape. It wears a foliate tiarra. It is further detailed with engravings and embellished with stones. The verso with a sealed consecration chamber. It also seems to be inscribed on the back of its neck. H: 15,5 cm Weight: 437 grams Provenance: - a private collection; - Juan Carlos Katzenstein (1925-2018), an Argentinian Diplomat, who was an Ambassador in Beijing, China, from December 6, 1975 to January 2, 1978, and later to the Holy See (Vatican) and to the Sovereign Order of Malta from 1989 to 1991 (by repute).
