Three of these exhibitions were held with his son Paul (Zhang Xinyi), including at the Laky Gallery in Carmel in 1972, the Erickson Gallery in Palo Alto in 1973, and the Ankrum Gallery in Los Angeles in 1979. In addition to being his son, Paul was a close companion to his father in the studio, and he was trained as a painter in his own right. -
