题识：玉关一去前纷攘，十二年未返故乡，奇事奇人传诵久，休论主魏与蕃梁。时属辛末孟秋月上浣南昌刘希任并书。（印文：希任） 赏析：拾箭弯弓英姿爽，挺枪跃马豪气扬，沙场叱咤功勋着，不识将军是女郎。花木兰替父从军十二年之故事家喻户晓，千古流传。画中人物面露半侧，眉清目秀，枪马弓剑，甲胄鲜明。布局传统，画法师古，线条刚劲，兼工带写，笔力不凡。此作成于民国二十年(1931年)。
