录文：义、命、法三者，君子之所以定心，而众人之所妄念者也。从妄念而巧邪以幸其私，君子耻之。义不当为，命不能为，法不敢为，虽欲强之，岂惟无获？所丧多矣。即获亦非福也。
陈宝琛，字伯潜，号弢庵、陶庵。福建闽县（今福州市）人。同治戊辰（1868）科进士，授翰林院庶吉士。官至太保，为宣统太傅。善书，似黄庭坚，瘦硬遒径。工画松，喜藏古印，辑《澄秋馆印存》。
