张之万（1811-1897），字子青，号銮坡。直隶南皮（今属河北）人。道光二十七年（1847）状元。历江苏巡抚，闽浙总督，东阁大学士。画承家学，山水用笔绵邀，骨秀神清，为士大夫画中逸品。初与戴熙讨论六法，交最相契，时称南戴北张。书精小楷，唐法晋韵，兼擅其胜。
慈禧，即慈禧太后，姓叶赫那拉。咸丰二年入宫，封懿贵妃。咸丰帝死，其子同治即位，尊为皇太后。同治、光绪两朝，垂帘听政四十七年。喜作擘窠大字，亦喜画花鸟。
款识：光绪庚寅春仲，御笔。
