An Assyrian helmet made from two thick pieces of bronze sheet with a spiked finial. The seams are pierced for rivets which would have joined the halves together along with an iron tang placed between the overlapping sheets. There are holes near the rim of the edge to secure the leather lining. There are two concentric sets of circles around the neck of the finial. 32.5 cm. height, 20 cm. diam. 1090 grams.CONDITION Intact.
