Paul Getty Museum, Renaissance and Baroque Drawings From the Collections of John and Alice Steiner, 1977-78, no. 55 (as Cornelis Saftleven)The present drawing had traditionally been attributed, orally, to Cornelis Saftlaven by Frits Lugt and E. Harverkamp-Begemann. However, given the increased understanding of the artist's works this attribution cannot be sustained. A similar black chalk figure study, formerly attributed to Govert Flinck but possibly by the same unidentified hand as the present work, was in the van Regteren Altena collection and offered in their sale, Christie's, Amsterdam, 10 December 2014, lot 172.
