Fabian Monge s work and art is the vehicle through which he engages in dialogue with the spectator to test them through his visual perceptions and optical illusions. His Pop style pictorial games engage our cognitive system by exposing it to the individual and collective subconscious, for despite vast cultural differences, these human peculiarities unite us as a species. Through his language, he aims to make us look without prejudice to question what we are seeing without knowing exactly what we are seeing. Trained at the Complutense University of Costa Rica where he studied visual arts, Monge is part of the intermittent group 9 Cuartos, through which he exhibits in independent and official spaces. His work can be found in several private collections in Costa Rica, Chile, Spain, USA, Guatemala, Belgium and Italy.
