Oil on canvas, framed measurements: 82 x 61, canvas measurements: 66 x 46 cm. Born in 1849 in Barcelona, ​​he trained at the Barcelona School of Arts and Crafts and at the Pere Borrell Academy. In 1873 he made his first trip to Rome. In the Italian capital he had contact with Mariano Fortuny, adopting great influence from him first in the precious character of his first works. Once trained, he moved to Paris in 1877 with a magnificent reception, at the Universal Exhibition of 1878. His realistic technique caught the attention of the dealer Goupil, who acquired the production rights of his work and promoted him in the international markets.
