剑璏为青黄玉质，大面积受红沁。呈色悠沉古雅。器正视呈长方形，器的两端向下且向内弯曲、微敛，剑璏表面饰凸起的勾形纹，其纹横纵相勾连，布满全器。一端饰兽面纹，粗眉巨眼，纹样简练。此类勾形纹于后来的文献中成为“卧蚕”纹，今人多称其为勾云纹。兽面勾云图案是古代玉剑璏经常使用的图案。
