Hiroshi Yoshida (Japanese, 1876-1950). Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print titled "Yarigatake" from the series "Twelve Scenes in the Japan Alps," depicting Mount Yari in Japan. Marked along the lower right; pencil signed along the lower right margin. Marked with Yoshida s jizuri seal to the left margin, indicating this was printed by Yoshida himself. Titled along the lower left. This print bears the distinctive seal of the celebrated Western collector James D. Tobin. Tobin assembled arguably the worlds most important collection of 20th-century Japanese prints. It was dispersed in the 1980s, with a large portion of the collection entering many of the finest institutions.
