Re-drawn.It presents restorations.It has a frame of the XVIIIth century with xylophages and damages.Measurements. 140 x 100 cm; 156 x 117 cm (frame).The present work represents the theme of the wedding between Mary and Joseph following a traditional composition in the history of art since the Renaissance: a symmetrical structure with the priest in the centre, but in the background, and on both sides Mary and Joseph. Mary and Joseph are led by the priest to hold hands. Although the image is inspired by tradition, the artist has decided to dispense with several iconographic elements that are recurrent in the depiction of this scene, such as the dove representing the Holy Spirit and the flowering rod characteristic of the iconography of Saint Joseph.Although the movement of certain draperies, the chromaticism, the contrasts of light and so on lend a certain Baroque air to the composition, it should be noted that there is a certain harmony that owes more to the Renaissance. The abundance of secondary characters can also be related to this influence, although it should be borne in mind that the Italian school was also known for this interest in the anecdotal.
