A GILT-DECORATED AND PEAR-SHAPED 'RUYI' VASE, YUHUCHUNPING, LATE MING DYNASTY China, 16^th - early 17^th century. Well potted with a tall waisted neck and slightly flared rim, supported on a short straight foot. Finely painted in gilt and bright enamels with a wide ruyi-shaped collar filled with flowerheads and scrolling vines, the shoulder encircled by a band of stiff leaves, further with diapered and stiff leaf bands framed by line borders above the foot.

Provenance: French trade.
Condition: Good condition with old wear and some manufacturing flaws, including dark spots, small chips to the rim, light surface scratches.
