A FAMILLE VERTE 'THREE MEDALLION' BOWL, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. The deep rounded sides rising from a slightly tapered foot to a gently flaring rim, the exterior decorated with medallions surrounded by an underglaze-blue ground with dense scrolling vines interspersed with flowerheads. The base with a double circle.

Provenance: French trade.
Condition: Excellent condition with some minor firing flaws, including dark spots and glaze recesses. Old ware and shallow surface scratches.

The three medallions each painted in bright enamels depicting different scenes, one with an official and attendants on a terrace, another depicting two horsemen looking up to deities floating among clouds, the third with three officials and one attendant in a palace room, all with neatly picked-out details in fine iron-red and gilt.
