A GILT-DECORATED FAMILLE ROSE DISH China, first half of the 20^th century. Finely painted with a lady and a boy sitting by a window opening to a garden with bamboo growing from a rock. The interior decorated with a blue curtain bundled by tassels, and a black and white landscape painting hanging in the background above a censer and a vase. The cavetto framed by a gilt border with dense tendrils. The base with a blue-enameled apocryphal four-character mark Qianlong nianzhi.

Provenance: Thierry de Maigret, Paris, 17 December 2014. A notable private collector in Kensington, London, United Kingdom, acquired from the above. A copy of the original invoice from Thierry de Maigret, Paris, 17 December 2014, with the reference number 508886 and stating a purchase price of EUR 50,000 - approx. EUR 55,750 adjusted for inflation at the time of writing - accompanies this lot.
