A BRONZE 'BUDDHIST LION' WEIGHT, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. Well cast in the form of a recumbent beast with legs tucked neatly under its robust body which is decorated with swirling scrolls, its backbone and ribs well defined, the mane neatly incised.

Provenance: British trade.
Condition: Very good condition with some old wear and minor casting flaws, few minuscule nicks, and light scratches. Good patina overall, naturally grown.
