A MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCKCOMPRISING ASSOCIATED GEORGE III ELEMENTSThe eight-day bell striking movement with 12inch arched brass Roman numeral dial inscribed for James Adair of Stranraer, in a mahogany case of Lancashire type225cm high overall品相报告: Movement is complete and appears fundamentally all-original however requires a clean/service before putting into service. The dial has lost its silvering and has overall surface discoloration/very light pitting; the hands are intact and appear original to the movement and dial although the calendar hand is no longer present. The case is not original to the dial hence the mask behind the glazed hood aperture has been re-made with reduced size for the present dial. The case is complete and fundamentally original however is presently in structurally distressed condition with the base being detached as well as the right-hand part of the pediment. However it can no doubt be put back together by a suitably skilled cabinet maker without a great deal of difficulty. The plinth front panel has a vertical crack and the skirting is later; the colour/finish is good.Clock has pendulum, two weights but no case key or winder.
