Ca. 100-300 ADA splendid glass jug with a concave base with pontil scar, six sides on the body, each lovely decorated, a cylindrical neck with everted lip, and a folded handle connecting the lip to the shoulder. Roman glass expanded upon Hellenistic techniques with the arrival of glass blowing in the 1st century, popularising the material and allowing the manufacture of vessels that looked ethereal, then and now, with swirling colours that catch the light magnificently.Size: L:140mm / W:85mm ; 75gProvenance: Property of a London Ancient Art gallery; previously acquired on the UK art market.
