Ca. 618-907 ADA mold-formed pottery tomb attendant figure in the form of a female musician playing cymbals. She is wearing a long robe with upper clothing in orange and her shoulders are covered by a shawl. She is displaying a harmonic expression; her smiling face with highlighted lips beneath a large hair bun. This piece has been precisely dated having undergone Thermo Luminescence analysis by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. The samples collected date the piece to the period reflected in its style, whilst also showing no modern trace elements. Its TL certificate with full report will also accompany this lot.Size: L:290mm / W:70mm ; 810gProvenance: Property of London Art gallery; formerly in a Somerset estate collection, acquired in Hong Kong in the 1980s-90s.
