Persia Ca. 1100-1200 ADA delightful cast bronze vessel for holding kohl. The pot has a highly decorated rounded body with incised patterns and applied beaded lines. Three bent legs with hoof-like feet support it. Kohl is an eye cosmetic, still in use, made by grinding stibnite for use as mascara or eyeliner.Size: L:80mm / W:55mm ; 175gProvenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1980s.
