The serene face, with a sketched smile, symbolises the balance of a perfect being. The lowered eyelids are a symbol of spiritual concentration and purity, due to their similarity to the petals of the lotus. The hairstyle also identifies the iconography of the Buddhas and bodhisattvas: the curls that cover the skull like small snails and form a double skull (ushnisha), which is a symbol of meditation and spiritual life, because it is meant to evoke a temple.
