19th century Inlaid in ivory, mother-of-pearl, soapstones and painted lacquer, depicting a scene with numerous figures in fenced palatial grounds including courtiers, musicians and attendants, accompanied by Immortals and mythical characters, all above panels enclosing birds amongst flowering and blossoming plants within gilt decorated and mother-of-pearl inlaid borders, the reverse gilt decorated with scattered flower sprays.
