PLAT EN PORCELAINE DE LA FAMILLE VERTEÉpoque Kangxi (1662-1722) A FAMILLE VERTE DISH Kangxi (1662-1722) With rounded everted sides raised on an inverted short channelled footring, the well enamelled with a central medallion enclosing dense foliate lotus scrolls, encircled by four lotus lappet panels enclosing various flowers including prunus, lotus, peony and aster amidst rockwork and insects, reserved against a seeded green ground, the cavetto with six cartouches enclosing be-ribonned precious objects, reserved against honeb diaper ground, the exterior decorated around the sides with foliate floral sprays, the underside with an underglaze blue artemesia leaf. The flowers in the four cartouches likely represent the Four Seasons, peony for spring, lotus for summer, aster for autumn, plum blossom for winter. 34.4cm (13 1/2in) diam.
