Ce cimier féminin portant son petit sur son dos est exécuté dans un style caractéristique des anciens ateliers de la région de Ségou également décliné dans la statuaire anthropomorphe et les masques. Pour deux cimiers relevant de ce style particulier, l'un collecté en 1944, autrefois dans la collection Louis Carré (Paris) et aujourd'hui conservé au Rautenstrauch Joest Museum de Cologne (Inv.Nr.43953) et l'autre collecté par Charles Monteil en 1904, abrité au Musée du Quai Branly (Inv. 71.1908.7.2). CI-WARA KUN HEADDRESS Bamana, Mali Ci-wara antelope headdresses usually appear in pairs, male and female, at agriculturalpetitions, festive performances and annual festivals. This female headdress carrying her child on her back is executed in a style characteristic of the ancient workshops of the Segou area, also used in anthropomorphic statuary and masks.
