A MASSIVE CHINESE JADEITE ARCHAISTIC INCENSE BURNER AND COVER, FANGDING LATE QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD The rectangular body carved in relief with stylised kui dragons, the sides with two panels, one inscribed yu lin bao ding, all raised on four tall square-section legs, the base with a four character Qianlong mark, the cover with two Buddhist lion dogs and a puppy, the stone of an even pale mottled green colour, 29cm. (2) Provenance: from the collection of Captain Albert Makinson (1880-1961), and thence by descent.
