She is the goddess of wisdom, strategy and battle; of art, craft and manual labor. She never entered into a love affair, hence the epithet Parthenos "the virgin". However, at the request of her friend, the Titan Prometheus, she breathed knowledge and wisdom into mankind. Their sanctuary was the Parthenon in Athens. It is a work from around 1870.
