The Peace in Paris in 1814 was rather precursory as the objected peace that was finally gained after the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815. On the 1st July 1814 at Burlington House, there was a vast celebration and masquerade ball held by the Watier's Club. The Watier's Club was a short lived gentleman's club, run from 1807 to 1819, led by Jean-Baptiste Watier, who was originally one of the Price Regents personal chefs and encouraged by the Prince Regent to create a new club in response to the monotonous food selections offered at other gentleman's clubs
