A LARGE BAMBOO CARVED 'PRUNUS BLOSSOMS' BRUSHPOT 18th centuryA LARGE BAMBOO CARVED 'PRUNUS BLOSSOMS' BRUSHPOT18th centuryNaturalistically carved in the form of an oval section of a gnarled tree trunk, the exterior carved in high relief with gnarled branches issuing prunus blossoms, box. 17cm (6 3/4in) high; 20cm (7 7/8in) wide.十八世紀 竹雕梅花筆筒題識：天大寒時香千里賀冬心先生六十初度 世弟馬日璐贈A closely related bamboo carved 'prunus and bamboo' washer with similar naturalistic depiction of the tree branches and prunus blossoms in the National Palace Museum is illustrated in Uncanny Ingenuity and Celestial Feats: The Carvings of Ming and Qing Dynasties, Taipei, 2009, p.57.筆筒取竹壯厚，整體雕作梅樁一節，外壁深浮雕梅枝纏繞，枝頭梅花或含或放，放著花蕊絲絲清楚，刀工老道而細膩。空白處陰刻題識：「天大寒時香千里」，「賀冬心先生六十初度 世弟馬日璐贈」。此種深浮雕加以圓雕之梅花，尤顯立體而生動。台北故宮藏一件竹雕梅花水丞，其風格與本件頗似，館方定為清早期，見《匠心與仙工：明清雕刻展竹木果核篇》，台北，2009年，頁57。
