品相：右手手指有断，左手小指断缺，自然干裂
此尊释迦牟尼佛以檀香木为材塑造，头部螺发，肉髻凸显，面容饱满，五官塑造写实，眉如弯月，杏目含苞，鼻头较宽，唇线精秀，下颚微收，宽肩厚背，上胸袒露，身着双领下垂式袈裟，下着高长裙，衣纹雕刻流畅，曲走流回，工艺极为精湛。跣足全跌迦而坐，左手于身前结说法印，右手脐前施禅定印。通体皮壳苍茂古朴，更增添了无尽魅力。
檀香，佛教称为“栴檀”，有“香料之王”的美誉。檀香木生长缓慢，十年成材，木材极香，可制器物，亦可入药，寺庙中用以燃烧祀佛。清赵翼《西湖寓楼即事》诗：“桕烛檀香三竺路，一观音养百千僧”，由此也可见檀香木与佛教密切的关系，这也是自古檀香木雕刻多为佛造像的原因。
