A William III silver tankard, the slightly tapered cylindrical body engraved with an armorial above a spiral fluted basal band, flanked by a scroll handle engraved with another armorial and initialled 'M' over 'I-B', all beneath a domed hinged lid with foliate scroll thumbpiece, London 1695, maker's mark 'JS' in monogram within a wreath, weight 695.5g, height 16.5cm. Note: the unattributed maker's mark is recorded on page 142 of 'Jackson's English Goldsmiths and their Marks'.
