A BRONZE FIGURE OF MAHAKALA, 17TH-18TH CENTURY 十七至十八世紀大黑天銅像Tibet. Mahakala standing atop a prostrate figure on a lotus base, his right hand holding a flaying knife and his left a skull cup, the wrathful face crowned with a skull tiara encircling the flaming hair, wearing long flowing robes, richly adorned with jewelry and a garland of severed heads, a serpent writhing around his belly. The base sealed. Provenance: From an old private collection in Bavaria, Germany, acquired in the 1960s and thence by descent. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and casting flaws, few nicks, small dents, light surface scratches.
