A RARE JADE CONG-FORM BEAD, LIANGZHU CULTURE 罕見良渚文化琮形玉珠China, circa 3300-2200. Of rounded square form, carved as a three-tiered miniature cong. Each register is finely incised with stylized masks at each of the four corners. The bead is neatly drilled from both sides, exactly as expected from a miniature cong from this distinct group. The stone is now opaque and of buff color from alteration.Provenance: From a private estate in New York City, USA. Condition: Very good condition with minor old wear, one edge with a small smoothened chip. The stone with natural fissures which have developed into small hairline cracks over time.
