The unusual vessel crisply carved in openwork in the form of a duck with neatly incised feet and plumage, the face with round bulging eyes, a remarkably long beak that serves as a handle, and flanked by lobed flanges. The translucent stone is of a deep spinach-green tone with dark-green and black specks as well as few white and russet inclusions.Provenance: British trade.
