Description The body of these traditional "hina" dolls, made for the "Hinamatsuri" doll festival, are usually made of different materials, although the classic "hina" is pyramid-shaped, with several layers of clothing forming the traditional kimono, and they are stuffed with inexpensive materials such as straw. The head, hands and feet are made of wood and covered with "gofun", a paste made of crushed seashells and binder that has to be applied in several layers to achieve an all-white colour. The eyes are usually made of glass and the hair is either human or synthetic. Defects. Height of the largest one: 17 cm; height of the smallest one: 8 cm.
