作者简介：徐祥（1850-1893），字小仓，上海人。其初学画于钱慧安，后又师从任伯年。人物、山水均能，花鸟尤为擅长。人物、花鸟风格近于任伯年，而能自出机杼，喜以繁密出之。其山水风格在胡公寿、杨伯润之间，用笔洒脱，气韵生动，圆畅清新。他并善昆曲，但其年不永，中岁而折。海派大师王一亭十六岁时拜师学画，即拜在徐小仓门下，后来才因徐祥介绍得到任伯年的指授，可见徐小仓亦是有声于时的画家。
