作者简介：贾景德(1880-1960)，字煜如，号韬园。1880年生于山西沁水县端氏镇的一个书香门第。长阎锡山三岁。父贾作人，1879年(光绪五年)己卯举优贡第一名，旋中本科举人。1889年(光绪十五年)登己丑科进士。当即用知县分发直隶候补，五年未授实缺，弃职还乡。后应聘主讲于汾州府(今汾阳)西河书院。叔父贾耕，乙酉拔贡，辛卯举人，先后主讲潞安府(长治)的上党书院和令德堂(山西大学堂的前身)。辛亥革命后，相继出任北洋政府总统典礼官、约法会议山西议员、段祺瑞“安福国会”议员。
