Description A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BALUSTER JAR AND COVER; c. 1920sChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic Period (1912-1949). Painted around the curving walls in underglaze blue depicting a river and mountain landscape with pavilions and a fisherman, the reverse with a dragon and carp above crashing waves. The shoulders applied with four Buddhist lion masks, the cover with a floral design and lotus bud finial. The base with an apocryphal Kangxi reign mark.Condition: Good condition, minor wear, a hairline to the cover, and firing flaws including dark spots and firing cracks.
