Description A DOUCAI 'DRAGON' PORCELAIN BRUSHWASHER, 1930sChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) – Republic Period (1912-1949). Of compressed globular form, the exterior painted in underglaze blue and bright enamels with four five-clawed dragons amid scrolling clouds and fire in form of a medallion. The recessed base with an apocryphal six-character Yongzheng reign mark in underglaze blue within a double circle.Condition: Very good condition, minor wear to the enamels, light surface scratches.Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1970 and has remained in the family ever since.Weight: 253 gDimensions: Height 7.8 cm
