Description A LOT WITH FIVE IRON TSUBA, EDO PERIODJapan, Edo period (1615-1868)All tsuba in this lot are of a tate-maru-gata shape. The first tsuba with one hitsu, executed in sukashi-bori (openwork), and gilt and copper iro-e hirazogan and takazogan, depicting three people standing on a bridge below a pine tree branch. The second tsuba with two hitsu, carved in sukashi-bori displaying aoi leaves with gold hirazogan. The third tsuba with two hitsu also executed in openwork, with iro-e silver, gilt and copper hirazogan and takazogan, showing a village setting, and an incised signature. The fourth tsuba with two hitsu, depicting rats and daikon in high relief. The last tsuba with two hitsu, displaying a mountain scenery with a small house on a cliff with gilt and silver hirazogan. DIAMETER 4.8 cm to 7 cm WEIGHT (total) 427 g Condition: Good condition with only minimal surface wear and surface scratches.
