Description A FINE THANGKA OF VAIROCANA, 18th – 19th CENTURYTibet. Distemper and gold on cloth. Depicting the crowned Buddha Vairocana, surrounded by a mandorla, adorned with jewels, sitting in meditation on a lotus base, holding the wheel of the law in his hands, and accompanied by eight disciples. Framed by a border with dragons chasing the magical pearl, the eight Buddhist treasures and Sanskrit inscriptions. The reverse with further Sanskrit inscriptions. Mounted by a beautiful three-fold brocade border.Provenance: Private collection, Belgium.Condition: Good condition with some wear, and creasing.Dimensions: Size 81 x 106 cm
