Description A GOLD LACQUER FIVE-CASE INRO WITH TSUZUMI, EDOJapan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868). Of upright, rounded rectangular form, bearing a kinji ground with gold, black and colored hiramaki-e, depicting a tsuzumi drum, a fan and a hat amid prunus blossoms. The interior with a nashiji ground. With a reticulated gilt bronze ojime and a carved boxwood netsuke in form of a lotus leaf.Condition: Very good condition, minor wear, light surface scratches, few small losses to the lacquer.Provenance: From a private collection in Chicago, Illinois.Weight: 44 gDimensions: Size 7.3 x 4.2 cm
