Ca. 800 AD. A bronze cruciform pendant in the form of a Latin cross decorated with a depiction of Jesus between busts of saints to each arm. The Cross is the principal symbol of Christianity, recalling the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the redeeming benefits of his Passion and death. The cross is thus a sign both of Christ himself and of the faith of Christians.
