此件玉钺以和阗白玉雕成，大面积老提油仿红沁，玉质温润，包浆浑厚。整器呈斧型，上窄下宽，顶端匍匐一瑞兽为钮，器体两侧阴刻凹槽为戟，刃部斜弧，边缘锐利。器表正面以浮雕的手法琢出两条蟠曲相对的螭龙，梯形头，五官聚于前端，双耳翻卷，身姿矫健，长尾分叉，相互呼应。背面琢刻两组带状回纹，中部装饰乳钉纹，下端刻饰一排蕉叶纹。钺为古时兵器，形似大斧，以玉为钺多为礼器，此器表面装饰螭龙则有“府上有龙”之寓意。整器造型古朴，构思巧妙，实为一件宋至明时期摹古玉礼器之精品。
