Eduard Stellmacher (German, 1868-1929) for Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel Amphora Pottery Co., Germany. Pair of Bohemian Art Nouveau Jugendstil ceramic vases in the form of blooming flowers. A woman in elegantly draped clothing perches along the side of each. Each marked along the underside "Amphora" and "Austria," along with further production marks.Height: 18 1/2 in x width: 6 1/2 in x depth: 6 1/4 in.品相报告: The vases are in good condition; no major cracks, chips, or dents. Consistent with its age, dust collected to recessed areas and color faded. Both vases have some areas that lost gilding, most significantly along the extreme edge of the petals. There are minute holes throughout the vases, likely to be original to the work. There are some uneven areas due to firing flaws. Wear to the footrims. On one of the vases that has a lady with her hand on her shoulder, there is crazing throughout the vase. Below two dragonflies, there is a small accretion that is only seen through careful scrutiny- it was so minute that the camera could not catch it. By the accretion, there is one inch long dark mark, possibly graphite. On the lady’s dress, there are some areas where the coloring peeled off. On one of the petals, there is a blue dot, possibly a firing flaw. On another petal, there is white accretion. When inspected under UV light, discoloration is spotted on the lady’s shoulder- it is only visible when inspected under UV light. Towards the end of the leaf near the vase’s foot, there is a glue residue, which can possibly be a sign of restoration. Near the glue residue, there is a crack on the leaf stem.On the other vase that has a lady with her hand on her hair, there is a loss to one of her feet. When inspected under UV light, there are some areas with accretions, near the bottom of petals, that are only visible under UV light. Original to the work, there are some areas of discoloration; for example, there is a small red dot on one of the petals. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition.
