A Chinese Robin’S Egg Glaze Ruyi Zun Vase A Chinese Robin’s egg glaze ruyi zun vase Of two ruyi-shape handles attached to the shoulder, the ruyi zun vessel is covered in Robin’s Egg glaze, which is s Jingdezhen low-fired speckled opaque turquoise and blue glaze, developed in the 18th century, probably in the Yongzheng period (1723-35). It is a bi-color glazing technique, the blue glaze being applied as a simple all-over coat and the turquoise being blown on, to produce a delicate strippled effect. Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi mark at the bottom. In good condition. Height:18.3cm, Width:15.4cm, Condition: Good condition, some wear commensurate with age. Provenance: Previously from assets of Russell & Co., the American company in the Far East in the 19th century, founded by Samul Russell.
