A HUANGHUALI WAISTED CORNER-LEG RECTANGULAR STAND WITH GIANT ARM BRACES, BANZHUO Qing dynasty, 19th centuryPROPERTY FROM A CALIFORNIAN COLLECTIONA HUANGHUALI WAISTED CORNER-LEG RECTANGULAR STAND WITH GIANT ARM BRACES, BANZHUOQing dynasty, 19th centuryA huanghuali stand of rectangular shape with typical mitred, mortice and tenon top with a two-plank center panel supported by three dovetailed transverse stretchers underneath, with the middle one hidden tenoned into the long rails and the other two exposed. The edge of the mitred frame molds downwards. The one-piece waisted apron finished with a concave-sectioned beaded edge that continues down the legs, which terminate in well drawn hoof feet.
