Description Four coin 22k yellow gold proof Sovereign set, issued for the coronation of King George VI in 1937. This proof set contains a Quintuple Sovereign (Five Pound piece), a Double Sovereign (Two Pound), a ‘full' Sovereign, and a Half Sovereign. The obverse with Humphrey Paget's left-facing portrait of the new king. The reverse with Benedetto Pistrucci's depiction of Saint George and the dragon with the date below. In the original burgundy box with a cream-colored velvet lining.Condition Report The items are in fair condition with no visible cracks, losses, or major dents. Only the smallest coin has a minute dent to its edge. Scratches and wear throughout; visible in the lot listing. Light wear to the case.
