A GEORGE III ENAMELLED PANEL MOURNING RING CIRCA 1792The oval panel with opalescent enamelled ground with an applied blue and white enamelled urn beneath a domed glazed panel, with black enamelled coronet above the initials EG, the reverse engraved with Elizabeth Viscountess Galloway Ob 2nd Jan.y 1792 aet 65, to a tapered polished shankSize/dimensions: finger size TGross weight: 8.5 gramsElizabeth da COSTA VILLA-REAL (died 1792) was the daughter of Joseph da COSTA VILLA-REAL, and married William MONCKTON-ARUNDELL in 1747. William Monckton Arundel became 2nd Viscount GALWAY (died 1772) in 1751. William was the son of John MONCKTON-ARUNDELL (1695-1751) who was in 1727 created 1st Viscount GALWAY. Elizabeth and William Monkton-Arundel had three sons and two daughters, and their two sons succeeded as 3rd and 4th Viscount.
